Ancient Roman Garnet Ring cameos & intaglios Gorgeous Edwardian 5-stone diamond ringAn ancient Roman ring dating from the 3rd to 4th century CE. It's set with an unusually cut pyrope garnet; a long oval cabochon with with a sharp, knife edge ridge running along its length. The ring is crafted in 23 24 carat gold with oval bezel and leaf shaped shoulders that narrow to a 'V' where they meet the main band. It conforms to the Henig Type VIII or Guiraud Type III classifications, a similar example having been discovered in Uttlesford,
